”That’s fantastic! Can’t believe that’s not on the radio when they play the 24 hour Christmas music?! All they play on those channels are the old tired worn-out songs. Of course, I still listen to them cause I LOVE Christmas!”
MAGIC IN THE AIR (4:49) - Merry Christmas to you…A CLASSIC CHRISTMAS SONG to let your heart open wide to that feeling inside. Composed by Rick Lineback, Performed by World-class Guitarist Peter Sprague-Featuring the lovely, Kate Fuller.
A happy song to uplift, dance, and warm your heart…
A song that puts a smile on your face as there is snow on the ground, people all around… as just a little while ago, I was feeling rather low and then I remembered my dreams!
Let your heart open wide to that feeling inside of joyful sublime as it’s a glorious time because that joy is already here and there is Magic in the Air!

Today's Video Share: "Landon" by Grace Pettis
Grace Pettis is a singer/songwriter from Austin, TX. "Landon" is a song on her new album, Working Woman. "Landon", is a deeply personal, true story-song written as an unabashed apology from the artist to her gay best friend for not being there when he came out right after high school. The Indigo Girls were so behind the song that they agreed to sing on it. Growing-up in a small town in Alabama, Pettis grew up in a homogenous community steeped in a traditional Christian faith. Deconstructing bias with each masterfully poetic lyric, Pettis puts her own youthful, "traditional" values under the microscope, and the result is a transcendently beautiful testament to the power of change, forgiveness, and the inner strength that comes from standing firm in who you are.

Today's Video Share: "We Are All Refugees" by Ms Defiance
We Are All Refugees is a song I wrote about a child refugee. Whilst it is not precisely my story, it is nevertheless based on my own experiences as a former child refugee, drawing on the themes of loss and separation amongst others.
The video portrays famous refugees who most people may not know are refugees. Most people think of refugees as outsiders, whereas the reality is that there are many already living and contributing to the societies that they have fled to.
I talk about the song and video in this interview on BBC Radio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F32C0norrGE
And the story of how me and my family fled Iran is here:

Today's Video Share: "Cheeky" by Donna Hourigan and The Turnaround
This video features the single "Cheeky" from our self titled album of 2020. With her band "The Turnaround" Donna Hourigan teamed up with recent film graduates here in Brisbane Australia to create a fun, engaging video. The song lyrics were inspired by the very cheeky bass riff and the theme for the video came from 4 notes at the beginning of the guitar solo which have a secret agent feel to them. Shot over 3 days and 4 locations in Brisbane the video follows the antics of "Agent D" as she crosses and double crosses her spy handler in a race to save the band!
"Donna Hourigan & The Turnaround" are a Brisbane based band with a fresh, energized take on blues music, drawing on influences from funk, jazz & soul genres. One of the few bands to have both mother & son in the line up!

Today's Video Share: "On the Other Side" by Kristine Cox
This song holds special meaning for me because at the time I was writing it, my dad's health was declining rapidly. I'll never forget holding his hand and singing this song to him during the last moments of lhis ife. He couldn't speak or open his eyes at the time, but he would squeeze my hand and it was a special moment that we shared.
Sometimes it seems like life is full of pain, but when we get to "the other side" of our challenges, we can see how far we have come, knowing that we are stronger for having climbed that mountain!
And then....we climb the next one. Sometimes excited and running toward the challenge; other times struggling to take the smallest steps. Sometimes sure of our way; other times figuring it out by trial and error. Sometimes basking in the beauty; other times weathering storms. Sometimes reaching a peak; other times slipping and falling, but rising again to finish the journey.
When this life has come and gone, I believe we will look back on this life, grateful that we have tasted the bitter and the sweet, for both will have made us the best we can be.
