Today's Video Share: "The Breakthrough" by Lisa Mitts
This song is about not giving up in pursuit of your dream when it feels dark and discouraging. It's always darkest before the dawn but that is the sign that the sun is about to rise on a new day. This is the story of my own journey as an indie artist of working hard and feeling discouraged at times. The breakthrough is in the journey facing the discouragement and the fear. It is there that we grow stronger and have hope to take a few more steps.
Lisa Mitts is an ASCAP registered recording artist, singer/songwriter, pianist, and performer. She received Female Songwriter of the Year at the 2019 ISSA Awards (International Singer Songwriter Association), and a multi-nominated finalist for the 2020 awards. REFUGE is a young band from Kenya - fronted by a powerhouse 13-year old female singer. The band is made up of kids from 6 countries and four continents, ages 13 to 16. While their journey started halfway around the world, musically they are greatly influenced by ‘70s classic rock, funk and reggae, and the legacy of great, live rock music.
The band's name, REFUGE, represents what they are all about: an escape from the inauthentic music of our times; it also acknowledges their origins as “development kids” and their drive for social consciousness.
Formed in 2016, the band debuted publicly in 2018 and has quickly excelled to become the #1 rock band in Kenya, where they've received a lot of press. In August 2019, REFUGE played its first international gig at the Bautz Music Festival in Germany.

Today's Video Share: "Silver Moon" by Rock Farm Road Kneipp
Rock Farm Road Kneipp shares, “The video for 'Silvermoon' was recorded in Sydney NSW Australia at a local park rose garden. it was a beautiful day and I decided to lie down in the grass to get a better shot and interesting film angle. My husband thought it was a great idea and got up on the ladder that we brought in the car, even though I was in my best dress and hair and makeup that I did myself and the bugs were crawling over me. This song is a great romantic song about lost love and waiting for that love to return, there is a great bass solo at the end, which you don't always find in a pop song. We go by the band name 'Rock Farm Road' and record all our songs in our own home studio. We are an independent artist and released our debut album "Light My Way" in November 2019. We are considered Adult Alternative Contemporary Rock Pop Music as all instruments are played live into the recordings. We are working on a new album for release early next year and trust that you enjoy our artistic contribution to the world. Feel free to contact us at www.rockfarmroad.com”

Today's Video Share: "It's Okay (Not to Be Okay)" by Abby K
Written just before brewing chaos changed life as we know it, “It’s Okay (Not to be Okay)” was born in Cambria, CA while Abby was touring the W. Coast promoting her latest album. Influenced by her musical heroes, Fran Healy of Travis and Michael Stipe of REM, the song reflects current authentic human feelings of anguish and fear surrounded by a giant ambient hug. It’s okay not to be okay. It’s okay to have hard times and bad feelings. And it’s okay to talk about them.
Abby’s sound is as green, lush and dramatic as the Pacific Northwest. Her melodies are instantly hummable and imminently memorable, and her stories will hit you smack dab in the heart.
