My name is Michelle and I wrote “Have You Ever Heard the Good News?” I wrote this song after having a dream in October 2019 about writing a salvation song for the radio. The dream gave me three words in all capital letters, “RADIO. PRECEDENCE. SALVATION.” It impressed upon me that my songs about my life experiences were fine, but what was more important and had to come first was a song about salvation. So I started writing the lyrics for the good news of salvation and putting the song to acoustic guitar. Then, I had a second dream where I heard the song playing with myself singing, a crowd singing, an orchestra of music, and an all black female choir. I felt this dream was instructions for how to produce the song, so when I woke up, I wrote the whole dream down. At the time, I didn’t have the resources to produce the song, but recently, I did have the resources and felt God telling me that now was the time to release the song.
